9/29/25 On the road again

Image
Good day all! I hope your week is going great. This week had a good amount of time on the road. Both Thursday and Friday had conferences in Santa Rosa (a 1+hr drive away). First was a full mission conference where all 200ish missionaries both us young missionaries and the senior missionaries. And the second was an Elders conference where it was more of a brief celebration for our mission being as successful as it has been. A funny detail is that the lunch was starkly different missionwide conference was a baked potato bar (balanced and healthy), meanwhile the Elders conference had pizza and wings (gone without a trace). Changed vehicles and drivers. Upgraded from a SUV to a Truck and with that shift I let Elder Woodruff take the wheel. Rain keeps trying to come and soon it will come in full force got a sprinkle today. Soon it will be general conference and we get to have more focused and more powerful messages from those who are able to receive revelation for the world. I am looking fo...

9/22/25 Two for the price of one

Hey all, This weeks message is gonna be short because there wasn't too much that happened. Elder Gordon and I finished out and the drive to Santa Rosa was the farewell. I sent him off and he is now home and thriving. For Tuesday I got Elder Woodruff and he had been on mission for a minute and is at the end of his time as well. He will be home by the end of the year. He is obedient and hardworking traits that are never bad to have in excess. Thursday we made the long drive to Santa Rosa again for the training meeting where I met companion 2. Elder Harris who arrived from the MTC the day before. The rest of the week was normal in terms of the missionary work. Rain is finally reappearing after not seeing it for months. And the sunsets are happening right around when we are wrapping up the day. Love you all and have a great week, Elder Hsu  Pics 1- Rainy Sunset 2- "oh deer!"

9/15/25 Trio yet again

Hey all,  It is the day before transfers. And that is when I'll be saying adios to Elder Gordon and getting joined by Elder Woodruff. Plus picking up a missionary straight out of the training center. I get to lend a hand to a newbie. This week was normal save for the many farewells that Elder Gordon was passing around to the various people we talk with often. We are working hard and still doing great. Tomorrow is the drive down to Santa Rosa for Elder Woodruff and then on Thursday it will be another drive down to rosa to pick up the trainee. As time goes on love needs to be a high priority. Love everyone as Christ loved us and it causes a ripe effect. What goes around comes around so why not send love and kindness out and let it find it's way back to you. I wish you all the best week and the greatest fortune in your efforts. 9/8/25 Triple Birthday Party

Image
Good day everyone, This week was all over the place and it is hard to believe that summer is now "over" (the temperature disagrees). We had tons to do and many great experiences. Tuesday we did some service helping a member prep for a birthday party. The party was for 2 things.  1: She graduated from online college 2: Her birthday, her son's birthday, and the birthday of a previous missionary (who visited for the party) were within a week in this time frame.  We had a lot of fun but obviously this week was not all fun and games. Between the sun and being out and about so much it saps our energy a fair amount. But we push along giving all we got. Because all you have to do is your best and let Christ do the rest. The other thing that is very common is that there are a ton of kittens everywhere. Many people can't afford to get their cats fixed. So many kittens. I wish I could keep one. But obviously via mission rules I cannot. I can however play with the little ones and...

8/1/25 Wrath of the nosebleed

Image
Hey all, It has been a great week. We have been working hard and seeing the fruits of our labors. Events of the week. Started out with some great days. The temperature has finally started hitting highs of mid 90s. On Friday while spending the day in Ukiah not 1 but 2 fires broke out near the housing of the other elders companionships in lake county. For a solid minute there was a chance that all 6 elders in the county would stay in the Clearlake apartment if evacuated. Fortunately the end of the day came around and the efforts of firefighters meant that an emergency sleepover was unnecessary. And then of course the title of this email, my nose spontaneously started making my insides my outsides and has attempted to 3 times in the last 3 days. I have been working to eliminate the problem and the bloodstains as this goes along. (A tide bleach pen and hydrogen peroxide do miracles to keep my white shirts white) This upcoming week has both service setting up a party for a member and also a...
