1/28/26 Midweek message

Good day all, I hope nobody is freaking out over the radio silence. I am alive p-day was pushed back to this Wednesday due to temple trips=P-day as per new standard rules. This week and then some was grueling. The start of the week had an ankle injury for Elder Charter that didnt improve for days due to his insistence on still going out and working. (He was actively limping)  Then on Saturday morning Elder Charter was struck with a strong stomach bug of some sort forcing him to rest and recover. And I helped as I could but otherwise started going a bit stir crazy from hours of nothing. I appreciated the break for an hour or so but then I ran out of time in unproductive mode but my companion was bedridden. So making it to the temple today was fun. Also fun little detail for those of you who have visited the Oakland temple, in the Celestial room the roof lights on the edges AREN'T beside mirrors there are instead little alcoves that have identical lights but no decals on the regular ...

Hello all! And welcome back to your weekly peek into the life of Elder Hsu. This week was fairly regular compared to the craziness of last week. We have been hitting the local river trails as an attempt to talk to and teach others out and about in this nice weather. We have also befriended some cats from the neighborhood next to a section of the trails. A random kid told us their names. Being Midnight and Dust (Black and Grey cats respectively). They are wonderful. Nothing too much happened this week otherwise. Transfer news are in and I get another 6 weeks with Elder Charter who is the most like a brother compared to my previous missionary companions in all ways both good and bad. I wish everyone a safe week and untill next time adieu, Elder Hsu  Pics- 1- Me and Midnight 2- Dust and Elder Hsu the cat tree 3- also dust on my shoulder 4- really cool looking low hanging fog by the high school

Good day all,  This is your weekly reminder I am not dead. Other than that this week had little chaos. There were some more intriguing news was that I am a hot topic in leadership and none of them decided to ask me about the situation. So I being a little tired spiraled and snowballed into them thinking I don't want to be out here. That was sad to hear. But I am not defined by others opinions of me so this moment won't stick.  On other note our bike lock jammed so we are unable to safely secure the bikes when out and about so this week we walked tons. Guesstimate is around 20,000+ steps a day. But we are more connected with the community because we are more seen. Upsides and downsides to all actions. Today we visited the Armstrong Redwoods. I didn't realize how much I missed wandering around in the woods until I got the chance to wander the woods. I didn't get lost but I definitely found the admiration of nature that had started to collect some dust in the back of my mi...

Good day all, I hope everyone is not too tired from hearing from me so soon after the new year but for those of you who are still going strong on all their resolutions pat yourself on the back. The only significant event that happened in the last couple of days was I spent a day as the english missionary in a Spanish teaching area. All I did was smile and nod my way through it. With concentrated effort I have started working to eliminate the bad habits that developed at the end of last year and I have made... some progress with more work to be done. I wish you all the best of whatever life has got for you. And until next week adieu. Elder Hsu  Pics- 1- river rising shot (compare with picture last week) 2- late night rainy pic

1/01/26 Happy new years all!

Good day, and happy New Year I hope everyone didn't lose too much sleep and enjoyed whatever celebration of the new year they had. As a missionary I got a curfew and a start to the year with a preparation day. All in all between Christmas and new year nothing much happened. I am healing from the bike crash and we still did the missionary work.  The weather had cleared up and dropped a few more degrees. And there seems to be a cold of both literal and health sweeping across NorCal. Across the mission and throughout the city people were sick for a handful of days. I dodges it but Elder Charter didn't so we had to rest for a day. I am far overdue for a haircut so today I am getting one. Today is Zone P-day so we are playing Pickleball, having a nerf war, and also playing board games. Overall a relax and recharge kind of day. I hope everyone is enjoying 2026 so far. Until next week, Elder Hsu  Pics: 1- Elder Charter pondering the river 2- Elder Charter and I holding little cr...
