7/28/25 Moving day

Image
Yeah sorry yall, We had to move apartments die to unsafe conditions. The day was so busy that I almost missed doing my email. Highlights- teaching is still going well and a lot of people made it to church. Overall a fun week. Lowlights- basically lost this day to moving apartments. There are a lot of cool members here in Lakeport and they feed us missionaries quite a bit. We had the whole district (local missionary group) at one of the meals. And at the other I mention Taiwan and he pulls out a legoish model of Taipei 101. Sorry for the short message Love all of you Elder Hsu  Pics-  1- the bathroom that was the "safety hazard" 2- the district at the meal 3- me and Taipei 101 4- Elder Latham on a dock by the lake

Hey all, This week was a wild one. To start the week Elder Swenson and I packed up our bags. His to go home and mine to go over the the Lakeport missionaries. They ended up running into a bad bit of carsickness on their way over to pick me up at Santa Rosa. They weren't too excited about doing the 1.5 hour drive at 9 PM. So all four of us stayed with the AP's (assistants to the mission president) for the night. The rest of the week was wrapping up loose ends left in Clearlake. Lessons and people we weren't able to give advance notice to about Elder Swenson's departure. So... it was extremely busy. The biggest loose end was a baptism planned for this last Sunday. David Wilson he has been taught for a long time and had strong ties to the Ward and the senior missionaries. I ended up dragging Elder Grighun and Elder Latham back and forth planning out the baptismal service and checking the last few boxes needed before Sunday. We ended up getting permission from President Qui...

Hey all, Big yet unfortunate news. Elder Swenson is going home. After we received the news we have changed gears to farewells and packing. I, on the other hand, am put in a unprecedented situation. This transfer was a rarity in there are no missionary trios anywhere in the mission. Meaning that I still haven't received news on what is happening to me or the Clearlake area. Elder Swenson has taken this development in stride and is planning on coming back out after a brief time home. That was the doozy of the week other highlights we attended a retirement party for one of our ward members and lent a hand with it's setup and cleanup. We also had zone conference this week where we were encouraged to work with the local members. When trying a new thing it is a lot easier when someone you trust is there to help and reassure. Friends of members are the best people to teach they have seen firsthand the love and willingness to serve others. So don't be afraid to share the gospel wit...

Hey, all! Happy 4th of July hope you all enjoyed it in your various ways of celebrating.  Unlike most of you, my 4th was rather uneventful here in Clearlake. Instead it was the 5th had all the festivities. A parade and a carnival that had been open all weekend with shows and things across the day. We visited a few times because the whole town was there including the people we were teaching. There were quite a few really nice folks... but a festival is probably one of the worst places I have been so far to try and find new people to teach. With everyone BBQin/grillin we actually got offered some hotdogs while we were meandering. They were nice and simple but I'm not complainin about free food.  Miracle of the week. The fact we were able to run into and talk to many of the people we were teaching in the sprawling crowd at the festivities. We wandered randomly and we were just sent straight to em. Thought of the week. There is coincidence and luck here 2 things are nice but ...
