3/30/26 Baptism and Palm Sunday.

Image
Good day everyone. News from the week is fairly thin. This week was a lot better weather wise but people wise it was less than optimal. Still many blessings. The biggest event this week was the baptisim of Billy and he was so prepared. After the fact he was glowing, everyone was so joyful. A blessed day is a day that has someone come closer to christ through baptisim. Also the icecream refreshments afterwords were the best. The second biggest event was today as Zone P-Day. A member offered their backyard for us to have a backyard grill party. The burgers were great and the games even more so. The fun was even better with cloudy skies and warm temperatures AKA the best weather for outdoor activities. Have a great week everyone, and don't forget about general conference this weekend. Hello all! I hope everyone had a delightful week. Because despite the 85° weather I had a good week. Walking the streets and dodging potholes as I drove the streets of Vallejo. Highlights of the week include: a bike exchange (surrender the car for bikes ), a movie night with our recent converts, and today a visit to the car dealership.  On bikes I died even more in the heat and sweat more than I have probably ever before. The movie night was fun because we watched the movie 'Joseph Smith Prophet of the Restoration' and it was my first time seeing it and it depicted the story in an entertaining way. Now today we had earlier in the week went for a tire rotation and the security feature on the bolts was missing it's key. So we had to schedule an appointment to visit the dealership for both new tires and a new key which takes up all of this morning. And now you are all caught up on the events and affairs of Elder Hsu in Vallejo California. Have a good week and you will hear fro...

3/17/26 Who touched the thermostat

Good day all, I hope all of you have had a wonderful week while I have been cooked alive by the California sun. And temperatures will only keep rising this week... who do I complain to about 90° weather in March. Jokes aside it has been a great week and the heat was a inconvenience and a bother but it didn't stop Elder Swindler and I from working hard.  The highlights of this week were Zone Conference and a visit to the temple. Conference was fun over in Fairfeild and there was some great advise given to everyone. The Cawleys (Mission Housing Coordinators) did a spring cleaning message and invited us to do 2 hours of cleaning today... cleaning is hard but it was sorely needed. Then on Friday we had a afternoon road trip to the temple. The temple over in Oakland is closed for cleaning so we had the long haul to go to the Sacramento temple. One looooooooong ride later and we made it just barely in time due to good ol traffic. The temple itself was great with it's beauty and arti...

3/9/26 Mormon Cowboy

Image
Hey all, This week has been a wild ride. I moved down to Vallejo and it was like going from a stroll to a sprint in terms of the speed and the intensity of the missionary work. And day one a random dude exclaimed "I didn't know they had Mormon cowboys" seeing my hat. Nothing too crazy to report other than meeting a member who knows my cousin who served his mission just south in the San Fran/Oakland mission. He was super jolly about having a second Elder Hsu. I don't really got anything else love y'all. Signed,  Elder Hsu,  Pics: 1- the Mormon Cowboy  2- there are some bold cats here

3/2/26 Farewell Santa Rosa

Hey all, This week was great and it ended with transfer news. Drumroll....... I am being moved to Vallejo. My farewells for the ward here were said and tomorrow I am off to new sights.  This week saw a mini summer. Temperatures were touching 70-75° and I had to readjust to the warmer weather. But there were tons more happening this week. The biggest event was the Sisters had a longtime friend get baptized. It was also his birthday so 2 for 1 great day. Elder Charter baked cookies with some Andes mint chips and they were delicious they also disappeared quickly. Packing unlike the last few times i was transferred has proved a little more of a challenge but I will conquer the rest of it tonight because last minutes is always the best option (that was mostly a joke). I hope you all have a beautiful week wherever and whatever you are doing.
