12/25/25 Feliz Navidad

Image
Hello all! Obviously P-day was pushed back to Christmas day. This last week and a half was fun. Obviously waiting a little longer for a rest was tiring but I made the most of it. First big events was last Thursday where we had a trip to the temple with half the mission (the mission is a little too big to go all together). This was also my second time inside the Oakland temple and I got to see more of the interior and it was all beautiful. My favorite was as usual the chandelier in the Celestial room. Also the bus ride with 1/4 of mission (1/2 split among 2 busses) was chaos with half a dozen conversations happening simultaneously. The next day we had a movie night with the Quinns everybody got to vote on the Christmas movie we were to watch, Home Alone won by a landslide. It was a relaxing and fun night. We had a blast. Of course not all sunshine and rainbows as the rain from Washington has made it down to here so quite drenched I have become. This weather has pushed us to walk mor...

12/15/25 The sun goes down and the fog rolls in

Hey yall, This last week was crazy and a little taxing on me physically. First off last Konami evening we helped put away all the stuff from the nativity festival they had in this stake. After 5 Christmas trees I started to feel my arms so I did the next 8 carrying them out on my shoulders... maybe that was a few too many. Transfers were the next day so I bid adieu to Elder Payne. And gained a new partner Elder Charter who is super fun and a little wacky. All in all this week had some entertaining moments. Like how he convinced me to try a hotsauce 1.5 Million scoville units equivalent to a ghost pepper. Safe to say it burned for like 15-20 minutes and I thought I was going to die. But here I still am. Also he speaks German quite well. So as we head into this Christmas countdown I wish all of you safety whatever weather may lie ahead and around you. Good day all,  I'll keep this brief this week. Transfers has come yet again and I am now in charge, my new companion has gotten glowing reviews from those that do know him and sounds like he has a strong sense of humor to match mine. So I think it is safe to say that these next 6 weeks will be fun. The other highlight of this week was volunteering at the nativity celebration in this stake. We had a 2 hour block where we sat at the exit and gave directions, shared upcoming performances, and gave light the world ornaments. The best part was another local church had a bell choir that preformed during the time we were there. The bells were crazy good. Today I finally checked the Schultz museum off the Santa Rosa basket list. And it was fun and entertaining. We spent about 2x longer than expected there but it was a good time. I wish everyone warmth and joy this chilly December. Adios amigos, Elder Hsu  Pics- 1- a wise men quilt  2- a foggy bike ride 3- interactive exhibit at t...

12/1/25 Thanksgiving and an extra 5 pounds

Image
Good day all,  I sure hope all you all had a great Thanksgiving. This week was a few ups and downs. First an up with Thanksgiving we were told not to knock doors on Thanksgiving day so we scheduled some service helping with some grand front yard Christmas decorations (I'll get pics with it soon but I forgot). Then a feast with a member who invited us over, best Thanksgiving turkey I have had in a while. Then a down was the day after, all the Feasting and festivities meant going back to missionary work the next day was a little taxing and biking means I felt yesterday's feast all the more. Then after that tough day we get another waking up a 6 instead of the normal 6:30 so that we could go and set up for the Christmas nativity display the Stake is holding this upcoming weekend. And I don't do that early of morning that well. But that same Saturday we had a baptism which is such a blessing for both us the missionaries and the boy that was baptized. Last but certainly not leas...
