good afternoon (or whenever you are reading this), Just like that first transfer is over and this last week was crazy. Before saying anything else I am happy to announce that I'm staying this transfer in Vacaville, and also I got a baptism. The person we baptized was Kat, it was cool and I think her life will be blessed because of it. The district is getting a new DL and I am staying in a trio with Elder Wallace leaving and an Elder Brough (said like the word rough with a B in front) is coming in to be in trio with Elder Fay and I. Now that there has been six weeks gone by I am starting to get to know people fairly well due to how things are. We only have member meals on weekends and this last Saturday we visited bishop Page who was really chill and happy to hear he was keeping 2/3 missionaries. Some light rain passed through recently and overall weather is starting to get brighter. Have a good... whatever time you're reading this in. with care, Elder Hsu pictures- 1: a l...

Hey all, This week was pretty chill. The highlights of the week was volunteering one morning to help move a fridge from one 2nd floor apartment to a different 2nd floor apartment. Fortunately, it was pretty light and the lady got us lunch afterwards. The other big service thing we did this week was helping pick oranges. It was all fine and dandy till we discovered that spiders liked sheltering in the clusters that grew on the branches. The tree branches were also the source of a few minor scratches for us that fortunately did not need to be patched up. Otherwise the missionary work highlight was on Saturday when the Summerfield Elders had another baptism this transfer. It was a really chill dude and the talk on baptism was actually given in Hindi, overall a unique baptism.  Small spiritual thought: D&C 27:15 "Wherefore, lift up your hearts and rejoice, and gird up your loins, and take upon you my whole armor, that ye may be able to withstand the evil day, having ...

3/17/25 Blinked and I missed it

Hey, all This week had that odd feeling of being both very eventful and yet still oddly short. The large events of the week were a visit to the hospital for one of my companions who started having foot pain probably from a basketball thing a few months ago and all the elders in the zone catching the march madness fever. The only other big event this week was when the sisters in the district called for backup weeding for a member. It is about 2 weeks left of this 1st transfer and only day 50 of being a missionary (including MTC). I am fairly sure that I have learned loads and probably still have tons more to learn. A quick spiritual thought I have is to share my favorite scripture Alma 46:12 "And it came to pass that he rent his coat; and he took a piece thereof, and wrote upon it—In memory of our God, our religion, and freedom, and our peace, our wives, and our children" I really like this scripture because it talks of Captain Moroni's priorities and it is very simply: Go...

Hey lads and lasses, This week was not really too exciting to be honest. The finding and teaching of the mission according to my companions has been high and going great. Highlight of the week was doing service for a member over in the countryside and it was more of a monotone type of work (weeding) so I got to appreciate the view while doing it. This week had daylight savings, spring forward, and according to the laws of nature that meant that us on the missionary schedule could not sleep in. It is safe to say that it was a sleepy Sunday for everyone. On the mission I seem to quote Oogway a lot "there are no accidents." All accidents and coincidences that help us missionaries do our work is a miracle. till next week folks, Elder Hsu Pictures: 1- the Vacaville countryside 2- the flowers are bloomin

3/3/25 Spring into Missionary Work

Hey all, This week was nice, especially the weather. It has been sunny and warm, holding around mid 50s to 70 degrees. February is now over and being a missionary is starting to ramp up. I "taught" my first lesson where I started teaching what I had prepared and halfway through I got some much needed help from my trainers but hey, I made it that far. I am still working on talking to people naturally. The thing I have found the most interesting is that as a missionary I have to learn quite a few things before I can begin to teach. Thanks, Elder Hsu Pictures- Me, Elder Wallace, and Elder Fay
