6/23/25 Pianos shouldn't be this heavy!
Hey, all.
This week overall was rather plain. The weather has been a blessing, hovering around the 80º mark with a solid breeze. The first fun happening this week was when we ran into a family that we were teaching while on our way out of Walmart who had been out of town recently. The other big thing this week was a service opportunity helping someone move miscellaneous things out of a house and into a nearby barn. For the title the piano itself was one of those ones that I think can "play itself" with the air thingies through the slotted paper and was approximately 500+ lbs. We had moved it onto the porch and then, found that there was no feasible way to get it down the stairs. As the other elders were problem-solving the piano Elder Galvan and I kept moving other things through a side door since the front door was blocked by the piano. After 20-25 minutes they decided that we couldn't move said piano down the stairs safely so we would have to move it back inside. Even with a 4 Elder effort it was a painstaking process and I may have pulled something. (I'm fine now but I felt off for a few days.) Today we decided to just get some some rest and relaxation due to both me or Elder Swenson staying in Clearlake this upcoming transfer.
Miracle of the week: this Sunday we visited quite a members and one family that we stopped by was super nice gave us Mtn Dew's (I saved mine for later because ADHD+Caffiene=(-.-)Zzz) They also had some really playful kittens. It was a good little break from how monotonous the week felt.
And the word of advise for this week is to go with the flow. Don't let the various opportunities that come your way pass you by. Both as a missionary and in my brief time as a college student I learned a nice and valuable lesson: say yes as often as circumstance permits. Because you never know if you will meet someone cool or dead up doing something fun. Just to be smart about it. Today hits 6 months as a missionary and about 1 year since I graduated high school. Love you all.
Thanks for your time,
Elder Hsu
