8/25/25 Roadtrip! Even a comfy seat has its limits

Image
Hey all, This week as the title suggests we were all over the place. Visited Ukiah on Tuesday for interviews with the mission president and then on Friday a visit to Yuba City to visit the temple. As well as us going to the farther reaches of our area. The 2 big events of this week were a very definitive high and low to the extreme amount. High: visiting the temple and just being part of the experience (regardless of the 1.5 hour travel). Low: there is a big fire that started down in Calistoga just south of us. The smoke and other side-effects of such a big fire are being felt all the way over here in Clearlake. As in smoke/smog as well as people worrying about needing to evacuate. Other than that it has been work as normal. Can't believe we are already closing in on the end of this month. Time flies but I just gotta stop and smell the roses... although I won't be doing that for the next few days with the smoke. Joking aside time is important but it is best not to stress about...

8/18/25 Zone Conference and Rescue

Image
Hey all, Good day. This week was light. Tons of lessons and teaching cool new people. Zone conference was this last Tuesday and the mission as a whole is crushing it, we broke the record with 83 baptisims this last transfer. We have built a bunch of connections and gotten fed a bunch of good food from a bunch of nice members.  It was also stake conference this week for the Ukiah Stake and we were able to attend the Sunday morning general session and hear a the messages. One of the most powerful messages was Love, Share, Invite. The initiative for not just missionaries but members of the church showing love to the people around them who aren't members, share the gospel and their testimony, and invite to join us at church or a church activity. And this is something everyone can do young and old. Because the gospel is meant for all. Also little miracle this week while we were visiting someone we were talking on their porch when all of the sudden across the street a puppy walks by coul...

8/11/25 Reigniting Clearlake

Image
Hey, all It was a long yet not too uneventful week. Transfers happened and I took the wheel. Literally as I am now the designated driver. It is an interesting experience driving after awhile without. But I'm surviving, haven't crashed yet. Other than playing a little too long with cats and getting scratched I'm doing well physically. It is surprising how busy you can get in a week, but we have gotten quite busy. We are getting a little bit of a heat wave hitting 100s for a few days. I'm praying for cooler weather soon.  Also, last Sunday's fire as I arrived here I have seen the aftermath and talked to some people who lived close to where it burned. It was hectic and I was lucky to not have been here. The city was blessed by the fire passing away from the city and the fire crews were able to protect the town as well. The most important people during fire season is those who fight the fires. All in all I hope you have a great week sorry for the short message. Love yal...

8/4/25 Farewell Lakeport, Back to Clearlake

Image
Good day all, This transfer has come to an end and so does this surprise trio. I am headed back to Clearlake after it's 3 weeks of inactivity. It's not starting from scratch but... it is sorta starting from scratch. My new companion is Elder Gordon I have heard mixed reviews so we'll see what happens. This week was busy in everything but missionary work. We Cleaned both the Clearlake apartment and the Lakeport apartment that was just moved out of. There was some food left in the Clearlake fridge that had been sitting there for far longer than I had been here safe to say it is gone now. The bugs are as relentless as ever surprisingly Elder Latham has been the bug magnet instead of me. But I still caught a bite or two. Anti-itch cream is a blessing to have in my first-aid kit. Some of the people here in Lakeport are treaty close with the missionaries and took us to a fancy Thai place as a farewell gift. It was a tad bit sweet but overall better than most food on mish. Last fu...
